Hyperion

Hyperion tells the story of a young Greek who dreams of restoring the glory of ancient Hellas and struggles to reconcile his personal aspirations with the fate of his homeland. Drawn to Alabanda, who believes that freedom must be won through decisive action, Hyperion becomes involved in the struggle to liberate Greece. His encounter with Diotima reveals another path toward fulfillment: love becomes an expression of inner wholeness and the unity of the individual with the world. Yet the clash between lofty ideals, the brutality of historical struggle, and the contradictions of human nature plunges Hyperion into a profound spiritual crisis. Seeking to reconcile his desire to transform reality with his need to preserve his inner harmony, he is forced to reconsider the meaning of freedom, love, and human destiny.
