Faust

Heinrich Faust, a scholar who has devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge, realizes that his learning has brought him no closer to happiness. At this point, Mephistopheles offers him a bargain: he will serve Faust on earth if Faust ever experiences such profound satisfaction that he wishes the moment would last forever. Accepting the terms, Faust embarks on a path that leads him into a relationship with Margaret, brings tragic consequences through his actions, and drives him to continue searching for meaning in life beyond his own desires.
